The Black Hole Experience (BHX) is a mobile immersive experience presented by Age of Union and conceived by Dax Dasilva and artist Kelly Nunes that draws inspiration from the physics and spiritual properties of black holes.
Set inside a moving, maneuverable vessel, BHX is a one-of-a-kind exhibition set to appear at select outdoor venues across North America beginning in summer 2024; and is currently booking integrations at festivals, fairgrounds, city centres, museums, and universities. Installed initially in Montreal, this work has been transformed into a carbon neutral “eco-portal,” featuring light, sound, and 3D mapped projection.
BHX offers an immersive reset uniting the awe and wonder of nature and the cosmos with meditative reflection. Through this mobile exhibition and multiple integrated projects around the globe, Age of Union hopes to ignite a flame within every person and inspire individuals to create high-impact change in the world.
While every person’s experience of BHX will differ, all participants will feel a sense of interconnectedness with humanity, the environment, and the cosmos. They will engage with their sense of curiosity, and they will leave feeling activated by a drive to explore that oneness more deeply.
TECHNICAL INFO
The Black Hole Experience is housed in a 53' double expandable trailer with 1000 sq. ft. of interior space that hosts an LED tunnel leading to the black hole projection chamber. There are two antichamber rooms for waiting and exiting outlining information about the experience and Age of Union’s mission.
~10 people can be invited inside the exhibition every 7 minutes. The total experience lasts around 12 minutes. The experience is staffed by a Tour Manager and Tour Operator. 2-4 additional Brand Ambassadors are hired per city as needed.
The BHX is hostable at festivals, fairgrounds, city centres, museums, or school campuses. The installation is fully self-sufficient and requires roughly a 30' x 90' footprint. Alternatively, BHX can plug into localized power and utilize a smaller 30' x 60'.
